May Pow meeting minutes

May 2010 POW minutes. (for your reading enjoyment)



Attendance: Chicken, Susan, Howard, Eric, Herb and Sue

First item:

Cycle Oregon Food distribution help
$1200.00 per session
3 sessions:
Friday 4:45 a.m. - 9:00 Friday 4:15 p.m. - 3:30 and Saturday 4:45 a.m. - 9:00 a.m.
Interested groups will be meeting with Chuck Woods on Tuesday morning 8:30 at the
Cookie tree.

POW would like to man at least one session. Several groups would like to combine with
pow to make 36 bodies and split the monies.
Chicken and Sue will be calling and recruiting anyone and everyone so be nice when they
ask you if you can help. (also...say yes, please).

Second Item:

Peddles on the Parkway : Sponsored by the Pendleton Parks and Rec. with
POW doing the safety talk, small bike maintenance and a short ride on the River park way
demonstrating different safety point along the way. Geared to children.
June 11, at 5:30 - 7:30 Meeting at Brownfield park, (across from the Faith Center)
Chuck will head up the event: Helpers: MAYBE...Debbie and Dennis Davis,
Storm Webb,Mack Temple, Jo Simpson, Evan and Christine MacKenzie, Susan Kelley
Please let Chuck know if you are in or out. And...If there is anyone else that would like
to help please feel free to jump in. Thanks
Helmet coupons will be given out for those that are wearing their helmets at the time.

Third Item:

Please pick up the helmet coupons and start handing them out to encourage riding with the
'OL BEAN PROTECTOR. And encourage the kids for riding safely.

Fourth Item:

June 5 Th, 2010 will be the Marilyn Ride


Fifth Item:

July 31, 2010 will be the Club Century ride. Start putting in the miles. Susan assured us
the ride is relatively flat. Plus it is FREE.

Next meeting will be held on June 15 at the cookie tree. If you have any news, information
or would like to attend please feel free to come and enjoy a bowl of delicious OATMEAL or
anything thing else that you might like to eat.
